Are you wanting to work in retail or at the head office? Permanent work or an internship? From my experience if its a head office placement your after they only take interns from 18+ due to legal restrictions etc. A lot of placements even ask for graduates, and most placements are non paid, some covering travel expenses, and usually ask for between 4 weeks and 3 months of work. If you want to see whether they would take someone younger I would recommend writing a cover letter and a cv and sending them to sass & bide head office. x

You are only one of two UK fashion bloggers that I know on Tumblr. But perhaps you migh appreciate my networking achievement today.

I met Jane Shepherdson, now CEO of Whistles at a collection launch today in Leeds. She complimented me wearing her one of their jumpsuits, so I manage to interview her (just for my own blog, lol) and get a cheeky picture. Later, met her Press Manager, who gave me her email address... unfortunately no internships for MA students, but she told me to let her know when I finish my degree. That's in 3 weeks. Whoop whoop.

How's life your side doing? I saw your snap with Anna Wintour. I was so excited for you, lol.xx

Hey Sabrina, I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to reply to you! Been crazy busy recently, I finish interning in a few months and then i’m off to South East Asia for a bit of travelling, factory and fabric sourcing and working as a UK correspondent for a fashion blog. I will definitely check out your interview with Jane Shepherdson sounds fantastic! Any update from Whistles?

Haha Why thank you, yes I sat behind Anna Wintour at the Julian J Smith show last season, it was quite exciting, but she was so composed throughout the whole show. She really does have ‘the devil wears prada’ presence! x

hi, your blog is amazing and was glued to it for literally 2 hrs reading! I'm considering a going into fashion marketing/PR after a degree in it and was wondering if you have any advice? how competitive is it? xx

Well as with most careers fashion-based, alongside the current economic climate, competition is at it’s peak. I am currently working on an Intern Know how page which hopefully answer all of your questions. In the mean time, I would recommend keeping you ears and eyes open to what is going on in the industry, networking as much as possible and trying to gain experience in the fashion PR/ Marketing field. Lots of fashion HQs take on PR interns on a monthly basis so send out Cover letters and CVs to places of interest. ( London based PR agencies that are well know such as Blow Pr, Starworks, Snow Pr, Purple, and PushPR all take on interns). If you are based in the UK, I would keep updated by subscribing to Drapers for fashion business knowledge, and reading online info from people like WGSN. Hope this helps! xx

So I been gone for too long.

With everything going on with the buying, the press, the website, LOTS of photoshop’ing and many ‘this piece is so this season’ I have hardly had time to eat sushi! ( Which i do a lot of i might add!)

I have been attempting to get fit by dragging myself to the gym everyday, which has evidently brought me back down to earth but finding the time to have a social life when you work every weekend is pretty damn hard.

I also seem to have this idea in my head that I want to move to Hong Kong? I think i may take a trip there in Sept for Hong kong Fashion week.. and a new job may be on the cards.. x
